DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Monroe - May 16, 2004
|
May 19, 2004
Dear Fellow Anglers,
I hope all of you enjoyed our Monroe Tournament. There were 119 bass caught, with only 3 limits. Not Patoka, but not bad for Monroe.
Congratulations to the 1st Place & Big Bass winners:
Norman Herzog & Steve Kruegar
$5850.00 was paid out to the field of 79 boats.
With $1545.00 added to the classic fund, a total of $3638.00 is going into the Rocky Point Tournament.
Congratulations also to the free entry winners:
Kevin & Rodney Allen
If you're planning on fishing the Kentucky side of the river be sure and get a Kentucky fishing license. Rocky point Marina doesn't sell them anymore, so plan accordingly.
I received a complaint about the payout breakdown at the Monroe tournament. The complaint centers on the fact that award money decreases drastically after 2nd Place when the field is made up of 80 or less boats.
I took some time this week to speak to the person who complained and explained that this is only a starting point, emphasizing that in August we would be voting on this matter, along with a number of other topics.
Monroe was the first event this individual participated in and this person doesn't plan to fish in all upcoming events. I was also told that many others are not happy with the payout. I offered to discuss this with all of you on, or before, the Rocky Point tournament. If everyone wants a change... we'll make a change.
We have a few of options:
- We can pay less to 1st place.
- We can pay less to the last few positions.
- We can leave things alone and discuss it again in August.
I'd like each of you to tell me your preference? It makes no difference to me.
If you like to voice your opinion before our next tournament, please call me or Send Me Emailand cast your vote!
Thanks... in advance... for your input!
Good Fishin'
